Marvel Snap Partners with New Publisher After US Ban Controversy

Marvel Snap’s development team, Second Dinner, has announced that it has entered into a partnership with Skystone Games, a U.S.-based publisher, following the controversy surrounding the game's ban in the United States. This move marks a significant step in ensuring that similar issues do not arise in the future.

Second Dinner shared the news on X (previously known as Twitter), saying that the company has already signed agreements and started the process of transitioning its operational and publishing work to Skystone Games. Apparently, the move is expected to allow Second Dinner more control over publishing, hence stability and security in the future.

The game, Marvel Snap, just recently experienced a ban in the U.S. as it was previously produced by Nuverse, a company owned by ByteDance, a firm that also owns TikTok. This business connection brought scrutiny to both the game and TikTok due to national security concerns, landing the game the ban. At the time, Second Dinner expressed that the ban took them by surprise, clarifying that the game was still going to be supported and would return after the situation was resolved.

As a gesture to welcome back players, Marvel Snap has introduced a comprehensive "Welcome Back Package" for players, including different rewards based on the Collection Level of the players:

• For players over Collection Level 500, the package includes Spotlight Keys, Season Pass XP, Credits, Collector’s Tokens, Gold, Conquest Tickets, and exclusive cosmetic items such as rare variants and borders.
• For players under Collection Level 500, they will receive Mystery Series 3 Cards, Credits, Gold, and various rare cosmetic rewards.

Additional: Global players based outside the United States will also receive a special "Global Gratitude Package" with similar rewards tailored to their Collection Levels to ensure that people from all parts of the globe benefit from this game's return.
