Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Shines on PS5 Pro: Insomniac Reveals Enhanced Graphics and Features

October 27, 2024 - Insomniac Games has finally lifted the lid on the visual capabilities that the PS5 Pro would bring to Marvel's Spider-Man 2, and there are upgraded graphics features focusing on reflections and graphical fidelity.

A World of Reflections

Jacinda Chew, senior art director at Insomniac Games, in the latest presentation said that the game is all about reflections, starting from the skyscraper windows of New York to the goggles of Spider-Man and the water surface. The PS5's standard performance mode has been limited, in fact, to "make the developers compromise between the creative vision and the technical capabilities" of the console. Advanced hardware inside the PlayStation 5 Pro tries to overcome this by bringing much more visual fidelity to players.

 

PS5 Pro: Graphics and Performance Enhancement

The PS5 Pro upgrade on the experience for Spider-Man 2 involves improved fidelity that can allow up to 2-3 times more ray tracing, customised silicon AI upscale, and fine-tuned anti-aliasing. Optimised towards using all that the power of GPU delivers, all of this points toward less rough play experience at any level of detailed high definition: here you get what's possible without dropping a single frame with regards to that same level of Fidelity from the actual game itself.

 

Insomniac's Senior Creative Director, Bryan Intihar, describes Marvel's Spider-Man 2 on the PS5 Pro as "the quintessential version," balancing dynamic performance with highly immersive visuals.

Other news is that Insomniac Games has announced that Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will have no further story expansions. Now, all the players can play out the full narrative since its launch without waiting for any extra content or chapters.
