Mortal wins 'Content Creator of the Year' at Esports Awards 2024

Naman Mathur aka Mortal, Co-founder, S8UL Esports, stated, “Winning this award is an incredible moment of pride, not just for me but for the entire Indian gaming and esports community.

Naman Mathur, also known as Mortal has won another feather to his already illustrious cap by taking the much-coveted 'Content Creator of the Year' award at the Global Esports Awards 2024 Part 2, held in Los Angeles on Friday. In the grand ceremony, Mortal defeated globally renowned gamers like Tarik Celik and Ibai Llanos Garatea, and he strengthened his stature as India's biggest gamer.

Mortal Says An Incredible Moment of Pride

Speaking on the achievement,  Naman Mathur aka Mortal, Co-founder, S8UL Esports said, "Winning this award is an incredible moment of pride, not only for me but for the entire Indian gaming and esports community. My journey began with a simple passion for gaming, and seeing that passion resonate with millions of people is truly humbling. One hopes that with the victory more of the youth gamers will run behind their dreams, believing they too can get the recognition of the whole world by working hard and dedicating themselves to playing. I'm grateful to S8UL for being the backbone of my journey. Success is not mine alone but each fan's, each teammate's, and each supporter who ever believed in me and the potential of Indian esports."

It is a historical victory for the mortal in his journey and a tremendous honour for the Indian gaming community at large. At the age of 27, he has many achievements marking his illustrious gaming career; among them are his championship titles at BMPS Season 1, 2022, and PUBG Mobile Club Open, 2019, as an esports athlete. He has gathered over 7 million subscribers on YouTube and over 5.3 million followers on Instagram with such influencer content, making him one of the biggest gaming personalities in India.

First Win for Mortal in This Category

This is the first time Mortal has clinched this award. Earlier he has been nominated in the same category six times. He has also been nominated for various categories over the years such as ‘Esports Mobile Player of the Year’, ‘Streamer of the Year’ and ‘Esports Personality of the Year’, Mortal’s victory in this edition is a testament to his immense contribution to growing the esports and gaming content ecosystem in India. 

The Esports Awards is the most prestigious night in esports, dedicated to showcasing top-tier performance and innovation from players, teams, media, hardware providers, games, events, and personalities within the scene.
