MrSavage Sets Guinness World Record for Farthest Fortnite Kill at 1KM

Reports suggest that 20 to 30 inches is the optimal screen distance to reduce eye strain. However an average person, based on an educated guess, tends to be way closer to the monitor than the recommended range. So, what happens when a person dives to the opposite end and goes one kilometer away from his monitor?

As unbelievable as that sounds and looks, Esports player Savage actually lived up to his name with this one. Putting aside the difficulty level of killing an enemy in an actual game of fortnite, he also had to deal with the cold, snowy and rainy environment while trying to get used to feeling disoriented. This challenge was not for the weak along with perhaps some of the best players in Fortnite.

How MrSavage Beat The Guinness World Record

 

 

At first, MrSavage tried to test the challenge by attempting to do it from 5 metres away, before moving on to the 1km range. MrSavage had to connect all his five senses to estimate where his enemies or even chests were. With the weather conditions, the visibility became an even more daunting task as it was impossible to accurately see what was happening. MrSavage was using a telescope- otherwise the challenge would be impossible- to try and kill an enemy. The sky clearly turned dark and the challenge was nowhere near completed before MrSavage adopted a strategy- using shotguns and luring players in. Finally, after the 9th try MrSavage eliminated an enemy, an insane feat that many are still wondering about.

• Monitor of 32 inches 
• Telescope of max zoom of 100x 
• Keyboard and mouse only allowed 

Legitimacy

• The entire challenge needed to be recorded and documented to verify the kill.
• Elimination had to occur against a real opponent.
• No modifications allowed.

• Footage would be submitted for official review before confirming World Record

Many players in the community pointed out that MrSavage killed a bot, however, even if that is true- the feat is still impressive. Another prominent question that arose which asked how his sound was connected with his headphones, if he was so far away? There’s no clear answer to that question yet.
