New Bellflower Artwork Marks Chapter 2 Start in The Apothecary Diaries Anime

Looks like those seasonal artworks from The Apothecary Diaries anime have not ended after all. Even if lots of people were thinking it had already finished back in June, now they put a new picture on the anime’s official X page (one which was previously on Twitter). In the image, Maomao and Pairinare are standing there with Bellflowers all around. The whole place in the drawing looks like summer, a warm kind. They are saying this is the beginning of “Chapter 2,” so maybe more pictures like this one will come next.

That picture came as a surprise to many people, cause most were thinking those monthly visuals were already finished. But now, with this new one coming out, it kind of looks like they're starting again with more artworks. The style of the drawing goes well with how the anime feels, and it also kind of says the story is still not done yet.

Team Behind Keep Building the Palace World Around Maomao

This anime is getting made with Norihiko Naganuma as the main director, and he is also writing the series. There is also Akinori Fudesaka, who works as an assistant director on it. Two studios are making the anime: TOHO Animation Studio and OLM, which have both already done good animation work before. The story itself comes from a light novel that Natsu Hyuuga wrote, and the pictures inside the original book they was done by Touko Shino.

The story is about Maomao, a clever girl who knows many things about medicine. Before all this, she was living calmly with her father, who was doing apothecary work. But one day, she came and was sold off, sent inside the emperor's palace to be a servant girl. She is not so glad about it, but she is also not the type to keep quiet forever.

Soon, when some important people in the palace started to feel unwell, she began to use what she knew. She figures out what's going on with them. Because of that, more people start to look at her differently. One palace man named Jinshi, who looked very nice and kind of elegant, noticed her the most. He then helped her get a better place inside the palace ranks.

The anime is still showing on Crunchyroll, and people can watch it there with the subtitles. It got a mix of medicine things, a little mystery, and also some palace drama going on. Many fans have been saying they like it cause it feels different from most other anime out there.

Now that new artwork starts coming again and this “Chapter 2” part begins, maybe the anime gonna show more story and some nice pictures also. Maomao’s role inside the palace is not so small now, and it seems like still more things going to happen next.
