New Trailer Highlights Chaos Zero Nightmare’s Unique Horror Gacha Gameplay Revealed

  • India Today Gaming
  • July 17, 2025 (UPDATED: July 17, 2025 19:01 IST)

Chaos Zero Nightmare unveils new trailer and hits 200K pre-registrations ahead of global release.

The upcoming title Chaos Zero Nightmare has just dropped its debut trailer, and it's already stirring conversation across the gaming community. Titled "Zero Out All Despair," the trailer presents a unique blend of eerie horror creatures and chibi-style warriors.

Horror Theme that Has Cards and Turn-Based Gameplay

This new game does not appear like a typical gacha one. It has horror sections, but also turn-based combat where you place cards and select a team to defeat monsters. Heroes are adorable, but the environment surrounding them is spooky. And yes, it also has fully voiced characters and crisp 2D art style.

It has already been open for early sign-ups since July 9. Within just a few days, they mentioned more than 200,000 had already signed up. And they mention additional rewards when reaching 500k, then 1 million, and further until 2 million. Yet, no fixed release date has been confirmed for October 15, 2025, which is currently listed, but fans speculate it might just be a placeholder for now.

Mixed Reactions From the Community

Some enjoyed online the horror with the waifu concept, described as feeling like Darkest Dungeon but with anime flair. However, there were a few who said perhaps the game would have too much fan service, and that sort of thing can ruin the mood. One commenter states art is nice, but fanservice takes them out of immersion. Most agree they will at least try it once, given that fan service is becoming very common even in AAA games.

The game will be released on iOS, Android phones, and PC, but via this product called Stove, Smilegate's proprietary platform. While it may not launch at the scale of titles like Genshin Impact or Zenless Zone Zero, Chaos Zero Nightmare is generating enough chatter that it could very well become an unexpected breakout hit- or at the very least, a genre experiment worth watching.
