Nicole in Genshin Impact: Mysterious Hexenzirkel Witch Explained

Nicole Reeyn, aka just ,N is likely one of the most secretive members of the Hexenzirkel, which, in turn, is a very well-hidden group of senior witches in Genshin Impact. She has never really had a proper introduction to the game, but all the same, she is a favorite among fans of lore primarily due to her bizarre looks and sinister aura, which simply seems to be attached to her wherever she goes.

Her title is the guide who never loses her way, and she is usually like a prophetess in the story. However, in comparison with other characters, she does not appear personally very much. Rather, she prefers speaking with the help of magic items, such as this red teacup or even a streetlamp (yes, really). She has her first big scene in the “Inversion of Genesis” Archon Quest when she talks to the Traveler and a handful of metaphysical ideas concerning memory, fate, and truth. And later, when Fontaine was writing in a story called Masquerade of the Guilty, she turns up again, this time telling about god being blind about some things, such as prophecies not being what they are.

A Mysterious Origin and Silent Voice

She does not even have an actual country of origin. Other characters, such as Skirk and even Wolf,y appear to indicate that Nicole may not be that human. People are saying that she was, somehow, related to a race that destroyed itself, or that she could have been a Seelie once before she chose to become more human. And it is even suggested that she may actually be mute, or at least does not like to use her voice, hence communicating in your head, most likely.

Her language (or language of thought?) is bizarre, with hidden meanings and things that have a ring of finality but yet are not easy to follow. She does not tell the whole story to you but only blows around the edges of the story, letting you fill in the gaps. That is a type of secret knowledge that makes her stand out among the other characters in the game.

Nicole’s Future in Teyvat's Storyline

It wasn't until after the Nod-Krai teaser, Moonlit Ballad of the Night, that we finally got to see what she looked like. There she was spotted with other known witches like Alice and Rhinedottir. Of course, she still does not utter a word, but she is seen as holding a glowing sphere and keeping to herself, staring into the distance. The scene almost silently says that she has a major part ahead to play, particularly in the frozen lore-rich land of Nod-Krai.
With Genshin Impact venturing into new territories now with that region, Nicole might start showing up more often. It is not yet decided if the character is playable or not, and many are wishing so. In either case, her place in the greater story can no longer be ignored.

What is remarkable about Nicole is that she does not fight in a world filled with gods where everybody has visions and is trying to conquer the world by magic. She, however, does. She also sees things nobody sees. Yet the most dangerous of all that kind of silent reign in Teyvat.
