Nintendo Switch 2 has been on sale for a while, and Nintendo Switch 2 eShop's first revenue report is out. And interestingly, the top-selling game in the eShop isn't what you might have thought-- the Mario Kart World. Even though it is one of the most popular games on the shop, Deltarune beat it to make it to the top of the list.
From this, we now know that the release of chapters 3 and 4 of Deltarune has made the difference. Since the first chapter of the game was released in 2018, the two new chapters were much much-needed addition to the game. Players were pulled towards the game because of how interesting the chapters were and the content they unlocked for the players to enjoy.
The game is a chapter-based RPG developed by Toby Fox, and earlier in April, he revealed an exclusive Nintendo Switch 2 content, which caught the fancy of many players and was reflected in the sales of the game.
Deltarune outshines multiple games on Nintendo eShop's best-selling list
In an analysis done by Newzoo in six countries (Spain, France, Italy, Germany, the USA, and the UK), the top five games that have made it ot the top selling list might come as a shock to many.
- Deltarune
- Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour
- Mario Kart World
- Minecraft
- No Man's Sky
While admiring the list, you need to keep in mind that the list doesn't include the physical sales of the games, and if they're to be considered, then Mario Kart World has surpassed the sales of Deltarune. Interestingly, the former has surpassed 1 million sales in Japan. Besides that, Newzoo also mentioned that Deltarune isn't the only game to have captured a high sales number in June 2025, but games like No Man's Sky has also gained a substantial number.
