Preloading & Server Downtime: What You Need to Know

If you’re playing on the Battle.net launcher, you’ll be able to preload the seasonal update before it officially goes live. Just be prepared for a little downtime as Overwatch 2’s servers go offline temporarily to patch in all the new content. The wait should be brief, but hey, it’s a small price to pay for what’s coming next!

 

 

Season 14 Highlights: What’s New?

Rank Reset and Placement Matches

Season 14 shakes things up by resetting ranked progress across the board. All will need to replay placement matches in order to establish their rank, and with that in mind, expect a lot of good-natured competition as everybody climbs their way back up the ladder. It's a clean slate, and for some, an opportunity to pick up from last season's play!

Since December is the season of giving, the battle pass is probably going to have a holiday theme. Expect Christmas-themed skins, sprays, and maybe even some festive emotes as Overwatch celebrates the holiday season. It's not confirmed yet, but given the timing, it's pretty much a safe bet!

We are also expecting multiple tiers of battle passes, general, premium, and ultimate. These will be rewarding options for those who want to go all-in.

New Mythic Skin and Weapon Skins!

Like with most new seasons, there's going to be a shiny new Mythic skin dropping for one lucky hero. This high-tier skin will probably come with special animations, a fresh look, and some awesome flair. You can bet that the Mythic weapon skin will also be included in this, making even more customization to your gameplay. These should come through the Mythic store, so save up your credits when they drop!

 

 

Meet Hazard: Overwatch's New Tank

Fans of Season 13 should probably already know Hazard, this game's new Tank hero. He got unlocked for early access last season, but, beginning Season 14, fully unlocked and available on any game mode. And yes, expect a tank of peculiar abilities, probably something going to shake up the current meta that will make for some fresh ideas in new strategies.
