Overwatch 2 X Street Fighter 6 Crossover Leaks Ahead of Official Reveal

Overwatch 2 X Street Fighter 6 crossover leaks hint at a new mid-season event and skins.

A significant crossover between two of gaming's most beloved franchises — Blizzard's Overwatch 2 and Capcom's Street Fighter 6 — has been leaked ahead of any official announcement, teasing the possibility of a high-profile partnership that may bring new life to both games.

The partnership was first discovered by reputable leaker XOXLEAK, who posted a screenshot hinting at the two games being set to announce a themed event. The leak, shared on May 6, refers to an imminent Overwatch 2 mid-season patch called "Stadium," set to include content based on Street Fighter 6. The features include a limited-time event, along with a new Mythic weapon skin for the hero Mercy in a style inspired by Capcom's prestige fighter.

This alleged crossover is part of an expanding trend within the gaming industry in which IP borders continue to blur. Fortnite has already made room for WWE and Marvel characters, and Rainbow Six Siege most recently partnered with the superhero franchise The Boys. The notion of two genre titans — a team-based hero shooter and a competitive fighting game — crossing over content is no longer the exception within today's cooperative world.

The leaked material has been said to be related to Overwatch 2's new Stadium mode, a major addition to the game's changing format. Inspired by best-selling tactical shooters like Valorant and Counter-Strike, the best-of-seven-round gameplay format has caught renewed attention from fans and critics. Its addition has served to propel Overwatch 2 back into the forefront in a market that is more and more being controlled by newer releases, including Marvel Rivals.

Though neither Capcom nor Blizzard has made an official announcement about the collaboration, the leaked materials point towards a crossover in the near future. As the lines between worlds blur further, more surprises are in store for the fans in the future.
