Pokemon GO June 2025 Community Day Features Goomy, Bonuses, and Thunder Punch

Niantic have revealed the details for June’s Community Day in Pokémon GO, and it’s looking exciting for many fans of the game. With a new featured Pokémon, exclusive attacks, bonus rewards and more, there’s quite a bit happening this time. Here is a rundown of what’s coming.

Pokemon GO June 2025 Community Day: Goomy Will Headline in June 2025

The spotlight Pokémon for this month is Goomy, the squishy and dragon-type from Kalos. Goomy is going to be appearing more often in the wild during the event, and players will even have the opportunity to maybe catch a Shiny Goomy, if lucky.

The Community Day will be happening on:

Saturday, June 8, 2025:  2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time.

It’s the first time Goomy is featured like this, which makes it more exciting especially for collectors.

Thunder Punch - Exclusive Move

If you evolve Goomy into Goodra during the event, or within five hours after it’s ended (until 10:00 p.m. local time), your Goodra will know the Electric-type move Thunder Punch. It’s not a typical move for this Pokémon, so it might help in battle where coverage is needed.

Event Bonuses to Watch For

As always, Niantic will be providing event-wide bonuses for trainers playing during Community Day. The bonuses this time are very helpful:

• 3x Stardust when catching Pokémon

• 2x Candy for catching

• Higher chances to get XL Candy if you're above level 31

• Incense and Lure Modules works for 3 hours

• One extra Special Trade

• Less Stardust for trading (50% off)

Also, don’t forget the Field Research that will be themed around Goomy, it can give you Poke Balls, Stardust, and more Goomy encounters too.

Bonus Raids and After-Event Spawns

When the main event ends, another activity begins. From 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Trainers can join 4-star raids that feature Sliggoo. If you win, Goomy will spawn near the Gym location for 30 minutes, helping people catch more shiny ones.

Special Research Story: Slippery Slime

For USD 1, Trainers can buy a Special Research ticket titled Slippery Slime. It includes more encounters and extra items. You can also gift the ticket to friends, which is nice gesture.

Make sure to have enough Poke Balls, berries, and space in your bag before the event kicks off. Don’t forget to use a Star Piece to get more Stardust and evolve your best Goomy before the time ends. All in all, June’s Community Day is a great time to play and maybe walk away with a strong or shiny Dragon-type.
