PUBG Mobile is gearing up for the launch of its next major update. Version 3.8 will officially release on May 8, 2025, as announced by publisher Level Infinite on social media. The update introduces a brand-new limited-time experience called Steampunk Frontier, offering players a unique take on the battle royale format with a mix of train stations, airships, and themed landscapes.

The update is already available in beta, allowing selected players to preview and test the new features. This early access gives the development team an opportunity to gather feedback and make final adjustments before the global rollout.

At the heart of the update is the Steampunk Frontier Mode, which transports players into a stylized world inspired by classic steampunk design. The environment is built around a sprawling railway system and includes several new points of interest.

• Aetherholm: This large central train station includes passenger amenities and a hidden room in its clock tower, accessible by elevator. Players can also summon a train loaded with high-value cargo to the platform.
• Cargo Hub: A key transit area with both large and small city zones. Tracks connect these zones, allowing for quick movement between them.
• Hot Air Balloons: Found along the railway and in open areas, these balloons serve as gliding platforms, offering new ways to move and observe the battlefield.
• Train Platform: A small, rural train station with strategic value during matches.
• Rollercoaster Checkpoint: A fun, interactive feature where players can ride a rollercoaster and take in the view — complete with an in-game photo opportunity.
