Level Infinite and Tencent are ready with the next big PUBG Mobile patch version 3.9. Following the usual content cycle and feedback from recent beta testing, this update brings several gameplay additions, crossover content, and mechanical tweaks. Before it goes live, a brief maintenance window will take place to move players from version 3.8 to the new update. Here's a full breakdown of what to expect and how to prepare.
Release Schedule by Region
The update will be released in parts so that servers stay stable. On July 7, the Vietnam version will start getting it at 4:30 PM IST. Korea and Japan will get full access by 7:30 AM IST, and Taiwan will follow at 8:30 AM IST. On July 8, the global release begins in phases. Around 30% of players will see the update by 7:00 AM IST, increasing to 50% at 9:30 AM IST. Everyone should have access by 3:30 PM IST.
On the App Store, the schedule is about the same: Vietnam (July 7, 4:30 PM IST), Korea and Japan (July 7, 7:30 AM IST), and global (July 8, 3:30 PM IST). The update will also go live on the official site and third-party stores by 3:30 PM IST on July 8.
What’s New in Version 3.9
-
Transformers Crossover: Players can call in characters like Optimus Prime or Megatron by using Signal Beacons. There’s also new vehicles like a Mega Truck and an Electromagnetic Tank that can be fixed during fights.
-
Neon Outpost: A new futuristic area is added to Erangel. It has subzones like a Boxing Ring, Black Market, and an Energy Hub. These spots come with loot systems, NPCs, and respawn areas called Astro Dens.
-
Cosmic Hoverboard: A fast ride tool for moving around, not meant for fights. Can be upgraded with hoverboard cores for things like dash, double jump, and easier handling.
-
ASM Abakan AR: A 5.56 mm rifle that lets players switch between full-auto, two-shot burst, or single fire mode.
-
Drift Update: Motorcycles and bicycles can now drift. This changes how players move and fight using vehicles.
How to Get the Update
-
After maintenance ends on July 8, players should go to the Google Play Store or App Store and update to version 3.9.
-
You’ll need about 1.1 GB of space and a steady Wi-Fi connection.
-
Beta testers can still try features early with the beta APK or on emulators like BlueStacks, but the beta version is separate from the live one.
PUBG Mobile 3.9 brings new systems and crossover features that change how the game plays. Players should make sure they’re ready before update day hits.
