Realme and KRAFTON Partner to Revolutionize Mobile Gaming in India

  • February 25, 2025 (UPDATED: February 25, 2025 16:58 IST)

realme partners with KRAFTON to enhance BGMI gaming with AI optimizations, GT Boost, and esports support.

Realme’s recent collaboration with KRAFTON marks a shift from traditional brand partnerships by focusing on deep technical integration and performance optimization. This partnership involves joint development efforts to enhance both hardware and software, ensuring an improved experience for BGMI (Battlegrounds Mobile India) players.

One key component of this collaboration is the implementation of GT Boost technology, which has undergone extensive testing—over 40,000 minutes across 60 days—to fine-tune frame rate stability, touch response, and network performance. This optimization process includes a dedicated gaming task force, real-time debugging, and multiple testing phases aimed at delivering consistent performance during demanding gameplay scenarios.

According to Chase Xu, Vice President and CMO of realme, these efforts go beyond standard device tuning. "Our work with KRAFTON involves direct technical collaboration, including exclusive debugging efforts and AI-powered optimizations. The goal is to provide real-time performance enhancements for BGMI players," Xu explains. This includes AI-powered touch response, which dynamically adjusts sensitivity based on in-game actions, and Smart Dual-Channel Network technology, which actively switches between Wi-Fi and mobile data to maintain low latency and reduce packet loss.

Broader Gaming Optimization Across Genres

While BGMI remains a primary focus, realme is also expanding its optimization efforts to other gaming genres. Xu outlines a broader "Gaming Vision for 2025", which involves improving performance across racing, strategy, and puzzle games through AI-driven enhancements. "We are working with over eight global gaming partners to ensure optimized experiences across a diverse range of titles," he adds.

GT Boost technology plays a central role in these advancements, offering genre-specific optimizations. For example, AI Motion Control uses gyroscope-based algorithms for more precise in-game motion detection, while AI Ultra Touch Control applies predictive touch algorithms to improve responsiveness. These technologies are designed to adapt dynamically to different gameplay styles, whether it’s fast-paced racing or slower, tactical games.

Additionally, AI Power Saving and memory optimization techniques are integrated to manage resources more efficiently. Unlike standard Android power management, realme’s approach includes smart preloading and background task prioritization, ensuring smoother multitasking and more efficient energy consumption.

Supporting India’s Esports Ecosystem

Beyond hardware and software innovations, realme is also positioning itself as a long-term supporter of India’s esports industry. The company is collaborating with major esports organizations like GodLike to provide both financial and logistical support. Xu emphasizes the company’s commitment to building a sustainable ecosystem: "We are investing not just in device-level optimizations but also in supporting esports players through infrastructure and developmental assistance."

This approach aligns with KRAFTON’s broader goal of expanding the esports ecosystem in India. Through these collaborations, realme aims to deliver both improved gaming experiences and sustained support for professional and amateur players alike.

A Balanced Approach to Gaming Devices

When asked about what defines a "gaming phone," Xu highlights the balance between specialized gaming features and mainstream usability. While devices like the realme GT 7 Pro offer high refresh rates and advanced cooling systems, the company also prioritizes a versatile design to appeal to a wider audience.

"We integrate advanced gaming optimizations while maintaining a flagship-level user experience," Xu says. He also confirms that upcoming devices, such as the realme P3 Pro, will feature further advancements in gaming-centric technologies like GT Boost, ensuring that high-performance gaming is available across multiple price segments.
