Resident Evil 9 to be Announced at Summer Game Fest 2025? Hints Are Everywhere

Resident Evil fans have been waiting a long time now for some official update from Capcom. But so far, they have been silent, and nothing has been confirmed. Still, a lot of hints and rumours are floating around this year that suggest something big might finally come up at the Summer Game Fest 2025. Capcom Might Be Bringing Something Resident Evil Related This Time

Capcom is one of the confirmed game companies that will be part of Summer Game Fest 2025, as told by Geoff Keighley (the guy who made The Game Awards and runs SGF too). Capcom didn’t exactly say what they’ll be showing, but many people online strongly believe it could be Resident Evil 9.

It’s not just a random guess either.

Voice actors Laura Bailey and Matthew Mercer are gonna be hosting the Future Games Show segment. That’s interesting cause they both played important characters in Resident Evil 6. People on the internet are thinking this isn’t a coincidence, it’s a clue.

Rumours suggest that Resident Evil 9 could be officially revealed as early as June 6, 2025, during Summer Game Fest, with a potential release window set for the first quarter of 2026. 

One more clue comes from a YouTube video by Screenfire Germany, which usually shares reliable stuff. They said the RE9 trailer will probably drop at the event. Even Dusk Golem, a known RE leaker (also called AestheticGamer), recently posted a thread on X explaining which leaks are false and which may be true. And if he’s posting all of a sudden? That means something definitely cooking behind the scenes.

Is This RE9 or Just Another Remake?

From all the info going around, it’s looking like the new title is going to be a proper mainline entry, not just another remake. Fans are super hyped about that, cause it means continuation of the story after Village.

The Summer Game Fest stream is live from June 6, 2025, at 5 PM ET across all The Game Awards’ official platforms. Even if Capcom doesn’t say much before, we might see something shocking drop live.
