Resurgence Ranked Play Launches in Warzone on May 29: Everything You Need to Know

Call of Duty: Warzone is getting ready to turn up the heat again with the launch of Resurgence Ranked Play—a competitive twist on the fast-paced mode that’s already a fan favorite. After months of waiting and a few teases from the dev team, we finally have a confirmed date. So, When Is It Launching?

According to the latest update from Activision, Resurgence Ranked Play officially launches on May 29, 2025, right in the middle of Season 4 Reloaded. That’s just around the corner, and players on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC will all be able to dive in once the mid-season update goes live.

The patch is expected to roll out globally at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM BST, so be ready to jump in if you’re looking to get a head start on the climb.

 

What Is Resurgence Ranked, Exactly?

If you’ve played Resurgence before, you already know it’s a faster, more intense version of Warzone’s standard battle royale. The twist with Ranked Play is that now it comes with structured progression, stricter rules, and high-stakes competition.

Here’s what to expect:

 

• Trios only (3-player squads)

• Matches take place on Rebirth Island

• Skill Rating (SR) system that tracks performance

• Ranks from Bronze all the way to Iridescent

• Seasonal rewards and a Top 250 leaderboard

 

Kills, assists, and placement all contribute to your SR, which determines your rank. Every match becomes a chance to climb—or fall—depending on how well you and your squad perform.

Rules, Balance, and Fair Play

To keep matches fair and competitive, not everything from casual Resurgence will carry over. Certain weapons, perks, or equipment may be restricted to ensure balance across the board. Activision also says Ricochet Anti-Cheat is getting an update alongside this launch, so players can expect tighter monitoring for cheaters and exploiters.

There’s talk of SR decay being added in later, which would encourage players to stay active if they want to keep their hard-earned rank.
