Konami confirms Silent Hill remake with Bloober Team leading development. Classic horror returns with modern visuals and gameplay updates.
Konami has come out to tell us that the very first Silent Hill game is being remade. They told this in their digital show “Press Start” which happened in mid-June 2025. A teaser was shown where there is a lot of fog and scary background music like fans know before.
Silent Hill Remake: Bloober Team Taking Over Things Again
After the success of the Silent Hill 2 remake which was released last year, Bloober Team is again doing the job. That remake got good reviews and sold more than 2 million copies in a few months. Konami had talked earlier this year about more Silent Hill games and now the first one from that promise has been revealed.
Bloober's CEO Piotr Babieno said in a statement that working with Konami has been “really good,” and the team thinks fans will love what's coming next.
Mixing Old Horror With New Tech
The game remake is gonna keep the same scary feelings and psychological vibes like the original 1999 version. People will again play as Harry Mason looking for his daughter Cheryl in a town that’s full with creepy silence. This time though, the graphics will be much better and the way game controls could be smoother too.
The team is probably going to use Unreal Engine to bring the visuals up to modern expectations. So fans may get ready to experience the same story but with a different feel.
Still, We Don’t Know Everything
So far, not many details have been shared. The teaser didn’t tell when the game would come out or on which platform it was going to release. Like with the SH2 remake, many people guessing it may come first to PlayStation and then Xbox later.
Rumors already started that Silent Hill 3 or 4 could also be getting remakes but nothing is confirmed yet. Some reports say that the SH1 remake may be released by 2027 or even later.
The original Silent Hill game is not easy to find these days. It’s only on old PlayStation consoles and not many people have them now. So, this remake will help new players to enjoy it and also longtime fans can revisit it in better graphics.
Konami is also working on other big projects like Silent Hill f and Metal Gear Solid Delta, so looks like they are serious about the comeback.
So, the Silent Hill remake is finally announced but not much is clear yet. Still, knowing the Bloober Team is handling it again is a good sign. We are just hoping they can make the same feeling better. Until more news comes, fans just have to wait and expect something intense again.
