Genshin Impact reveals Skirk's full kit for version 5.7. Discover her Cryo skills, Serpent's Subtlety system, and high synergy with Hydro allies.
Genshin Impact has unveiled Skirk’s entire abilities kit! Skirk is the Cryo sword user and former mentor of Tartaglia that we have all been waiting for. Scheduled to be released for Version 5.7, Skirk wields an impressive blend of speed-based combat, Cryo elemental infusion, Void Rift mechanics, and strong AoE damage. She will be a versatile character suited for both main DPS and sub-DPS roles. First teased in Version 1.1 and eventually making her way into the Fontaine arc, the gameplay and lore of Skirk represent a character who can make Cryo fundamentally different from its current meta.
About Skirk and Its Full Ability Breakdown
Skirk was first hinted at as Childe’s mentor, and her long absence from the playable roster only fueled fan speculation. Now, her confirmed arrival brings high expectations, especially with lore suggesting she might not be a native of Teyvat, hinting at deeper mysteries to come.
-
Normal Attack - Havoc: Sunder: Performs 5 quick slashes.
-
Charged Attack: Throws a crystal spear at enemies in front.
-
Elemental Skill – Havoc: Warp (Tap): Enters Seven-Phase Flash mode, adding Cryo infusion to normal attacks and improving attack speed and resistance.
-
Elemental Skill (Hold): Absorbs nearby Void Rifts, enters high-speed mode, and can travel over water.
-
Elemental Burst – Havoc: Ruin: Uses stored Serpent’s Subtlety to unleash powerful AoE Cryo slashes.
-
Elemental Burst (Flash Mode) – Havoc: Extinction: Enhanced burst that consumes Void Rifts for boosted damage.
Talents and Passives Enhance Team Utility
Skirk has talents designed for team synergy:
-
Reason Beyond Reason: Creates Void Rifts when certain Cryo reactions occur.
-
Return to Oblivion: Buffs Skirk's attacks when Hydro and Cryo allies deal elemental damage.
-
Mutual Weapons Mentorship: Increases party Elemental Skill levels if the whole team is Hydro/Cryo.
Versatile DPS with Strong Cryo Synergy
Skirk can function as an on-field DPS or a swapping DPS. Her strengths shine in teams that focus on Freeze, Superconductor, or some combinations of Crystallise, most often with units like Furina and Escoffier. Her unique Serpent’s Subtlety mechanic and dispensing of Void Rifts have tactical advantages in combat.
As a representation for Cryo in the meta has seen less play in recent updates, Skirk's flexible playstyle and damage scaling may help elevate Cryo and reclaim its spot in the meta. Although she has been available in the Shattering Impulse update for version 5.7, players can use the long-awaited power of Tartaglia's original teacher at last.
