Skygard Arena's latest update introduces quests to campaign missions, balances champions, and improves gameplay flow with key UI and mission changes.
On June 19th, 2025, developers from Gemelli Games finally launched the Quests Major Update (v0.8), which according to them it’s the biggest update yet since the game started early access. It brought a lot of new features, especially for the single-player campaign that players were waiting for more depth.
Extra Challenges For More Rewards
The most important thing in this update is how now every mission comes with two extra quest challenges. These are not must do, but if player completes them, it helps more progress.
Tasks like use a specific champion, avoid taking damage to the pillar, or winning the fight under certain amount of turns makes things harder but exciting. In total, now players can earn up to 39 stars, from 13 missions and 26 quests.
You can check them before starting mission and also they show during gameplay, which makes it easy to follow.
Smoother and Better Campaign
Along with quests, the update changes the way how the campaign is organized. Some major improvements include:
-
Skipping of dialogues is now possible at any time for those who don’t want read long story.
-
The new structure is now: Intro scene → Champion selection → Fight, which actually feels more balanced than before.
-
Inside the team builder screen, you see now full mission overview including win/loss and quest info.
-
After finishing mission, you will now see which quests have been done and which have not.
These changes are helpful especially for new players who get confused before.
Tweaked Final Missions & More
Few of the end missions got reworked a bit:
-
Mission 10 is now more difficult, added 3 enemy units.
-
Mission 11 made different – fewer start units but now more enemies spawns every 2 rounds. Losing condition also changed.
-
Mission 12 had minor updates to spawn timing and enemy waves.
Some champions also got balance fix. Like:
-
Vallya’s “Charge!” was replaced by “With Me!”, which is now more consistent damage-wise and adds token. Also, her ultimate now costs 6 instead 7 and has a wider range.
-
Champei’s relic renamed to “Speed Gong”, more clearer name.
-
Bu Shin’s “Night Fang” now deals better damage to high-health opponents.
This will affect team building a lot for experienced players.
Visual and UI fixes are part of this too. Camera issues, weird effects on ultimates and small interface bugs are solved. Gameplay now feels more polished than before.
Why This Update Actually Matters
This patch is really shifting how players interact with the campaign mode. Quests give it more replay value and rewards. Also, interface now is much clearer.
Whether you played before or are just starting, this gives reasons to come back and try again.
As developers said before, the game will support Japanese and Chinese languages soon. And they still aim to launch full version (1.0) sometime in late 2025.
Quests are important step that bring it closer to full release. The new Quests Major Update not only adds depth but also gives reasons to replay old missions with new eyes. It’s a big push forward for Skygard Arena’s PvE journey.
