Sony PS5 Pro will not be launched in India; Check Why

The PS5 Pro is one of the variants of the PS5, with an advanced processor and more efficient graphics; it would allow displaying games of greater quality resolution up to 4K, and even 8K for specific titles.

The highly anticipated PS5 Pro game console will not be released in India, according to Sony's announcement. This is because the PS5 Pro requires the 6GHz wireless spectrum and uses Wi-Fi 7, a new-age Wi-Fi. Since India has not yet authorised the public usage of this 6GHz spectrum, gadgets like the PS5 Pro cannot function to their maximum capacity there.

The PS5 Pro won't be released in several countries, including India, according to Sony, because the 6GHz frequency needed for Wi-Fi 7 is prohibited. Many Indian gamers who are waiting for Sony's newest console are disappointed by this move.

What's New in PS5 Pro?

The PS5 Pro is one of the variants of the PS5, with an advanced processor and more efficient graphics; it would allow displaying games of greater quality resolution up to 4K, and even 8K for specific titles. It also processes at higher speeds for smoother gameplay. In addition, it would be released with newly developed lighting effects technology. The PS5 Pro is also built with a feature called PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution. This is artificial intelligence used to make game graphics even sharper and more detailed.

However, since India hasn't sanctioned the 6GHz band for Wi-Fi 7, Sony has withheld the release of the PS5 Pro. In contrast, other regions such as the U.S., Europe, and parts of Asia did approve the 6GHz band; hence the release has taken place in those places.

What This Means for Indian Gamers

There is no release date yet for the PS5 Pro in India. Sony also did not announce any update on the possible date of release; therefore, Indian gamers can only wait until the 6GHz band is approved. In the meantime, the original model of the PS5 is functionally operational. Although this delay is unfortunate for those Indian gamers who have been wanting this new console, the required Wi-Fi band's approval in the future may be hopeful for the launch of the PS5 Pro.
