Splitgate 2 launches its first big update featuring Ranked mode, weapon mastery skins, a new map, and fresh Battle Pass rewards for all platforms.
Splitgate 2, which was launched recently, has got its first major update and this update is bringing lots of new stuff including maps, modes and changes that players were demanding. This patch has already released a mini battle pass and the update is already rolled out.
Ranked Mode Comes At Last
One of the most asked-for features by players, the Ranked Arena mode, is now here. This mode puts a competitive edge to popular matches like Splitball, Hotzone and others. You need 100,000 XP before you can start playing ranked though, which takes some time. After that, players earn ranks based on how they play and their winning. There are badges and weapon charms rewards, but the real reward is proving your skill, mostly.
Weapons Are Getting More Personal
This update brings a Weapon Mastery Challenge system, finally. If you have already unlocked the attachments for a gun, you can now do special challenges, like get 75 crouch slide eliminations with pistols or 100 double kills with rifles. Rewards includes Carbon and Gold skins, even a special "Proelium" one. Each weapon gets its own challenge path, which seems nice for those who like grinding cosmetics.
Battle Pass, But Not A Full One
They also drop Season 1 Chapter 2 Battle Pass, which is kind of like a mini version of a regular pass. It costs 500 Splitcoins (equal to like $5), and has:
-
3 character skins
-
11 weapon cosmetics
-
A portal skin
-
Plus sprays, titles and emotes
It’s a bit packed for a small pass, so those who like collectibles might go for it. Also, it refunds 500 Splitcoin when you finish it.
A Map Added & Other Tweaks
Another thing introduced was the new map, Simulation Anomaly, only in the Takedown mode so far. It got vertical routes and lots of portal action like before. They also improved game performance and balance a few weapons, though it’s not very clear which ones. Hotfixes before this patch were already aiming at bugs and glitches.
Splitgate 2 has already had almost 5 million downloads since the start, so this update was needed to keep things fresh. Many players wanted more depth, and now with ranked and weapon systems, there are more reasons to come back.
