LEGO Fortnite launches on Nintendo Switch 2 with a new combat mode featuring enemies, weapons, and village defense for an enhanced gameplay experience.
LEGO Fortnite is soon arriving on the new Switch 2 console, and it is going to bring something quite new with it. A fresh game mode is also being added to make the gameplay deeper. While not everything is known, there are now enough details to get a good idea of what’s coming next for fans.
LEGO Fortnite Arrives on Nintendo Switch 2 Soon
After many guesses and talks, it is now more or less confirmed that LEGO Fortnite will be part of the Nintendo Switch 2 launch period. The release date for Switch 2 hasn’t yet been officially announced, but most leaks are pointing towards late 2025. Developers are already working to make Fortnite run better on this new console, and the LEGO edition will also be improved.
People are expecting that the game will look and run smoother than before. Better framerate, loading becomes quicker, and improved resolution is possible. Also, visuals like lighting and environments are going to benefit from the stronger hardware.
New Combat Game Mode Is Coming
Together with the release on Switch 2, Epic Games will be giving LEGO Fortnite a big update. This update brings in Combat Mode, which is very different than what players have seen until now. Before, the game was mainly about peaceful survival and building things. But now fighting gets added in, even if it still stays family safe.
Some of the key changes mentioned by Epic already include:
-
New Enemies: There will be more AI creatures that act hostile.
-
Craftable Gear: Players can now make swords, shields, and armor using materials.
-
Village Protection: The villages can now be attacked, and players have to defend them.
This kind of gameplay gives more challenge and excitement to those who want more action, without making it too serious for kids or beginners.
Crossplay and Saved Progress Also Supported
Epic also confirmed that players who already played on other devices, like PC or an old Switch, don’t need to start over. All the saves and progress will carry over to the new console. Crossplay also continues, which means everyone can play together no matter the device.
This makes sure that switching between platforms will not be a trouble for any user.
After this Combat Mode, more stuff is probably coming. Developers mentioned plans for new biomes, bigger crafting and more multiplayer features. No official roadmap has been shown yet, but announcements could arrive during the next season or maybe at a Nintendo event.
So LEGO Fortnite is clearly growing in new ways. With Nintendo Switch 2 on the way and major updates like Combat Mode, it looks like an important step forward for the game and its players.
