Minecraft’s all about being creative and building stuff, but there are some items in the game that are just not easy to get. You can play for hours and still not find them, even if you know where to look. Some items are very rare, or need big fights, or just super complicated setups. Let’s look at the top 5 hardest items to find or collect in Minecraft in the latest version for 2025.

1) Nether Star

The Nether Star is needed if you want to make a beacon, which is useful for big builds and buffs. But it’s only gotten by defeating the Wither, and you have to build that boss first. To do that, three Wither Skeleton skulls is needed, and those don’t drop easy either. The Wither fight is not simple and it can destroy a lot, so even when you win, you only get one star. That’s why it is very rare and powerful item.

2) Dragon Egg

 

 

After you beat the Ender Dragon, the Dragon Egg will show up, but getting it isn’t easy. The egg teleports when you click it, and only one ever appears per game world unless cheats are used. You need a piston or torch trick to get it properly. Since there’s only one chance, this egg is kind of a trophy, and very hard to obtain without knowing exactly what to do.

3) Trident

 

 

The Trident is a strong weapon, but crafting it is not possible. It only comes from Drowned mobs, and even then, not every Drowned drops it. You must find ones holding a Trident, which are not common, and you still need luck to get it. Using Looting helps, but the process is long and boring. That’s why many players don’t even try for it early on.

4) Silence Armour Trim

Armour trims are new styles for gear, and Silence is maybe the hardest to collect. It spawns in Ancient City chests, but not often. And those cities are hard to find, plus the Warden makes them scary and dangerous. Players who want every trim will find this one takes a lot of searching and sneaking. It’s not for beginners, for sure.

5) Piglin Head

 

 

This item is one of the most impossible ones. You have to make a charged creeper (which needs lightning), and then get it to explode near a Piglin in the Nether. That means bringing it from the Overworld into the Nether safely, then getting the Piglin close before it blows up. Many try, few succeed. In survival, it’s almost never done.
