Twitch’s Top Games of July 2025: GTA V, LOL & All You Need To Know!

  • July 28, 2025 (UPDATED: July 28, 2025 02:41 IST)

Twitch viewership in July 2025 shows Just Chatting still on top, with GTA V, League of Legends, and VALORANT dominating. Souranil Ghosh from India Today Gaming explores the numbers, trends, and standout games.

Twitch viewership data from this past month still Just sitting right at the top. It clocked in over 240 million hours watched in just the last 30 days. After that, League of Legends crossed that 100 million mark again, and Grand Theft Auto V held steady with more than 66 million hours. Other games like Counter‑Strike, La Velada, VALORANT, Rust, and Fortnite round out the current top ten, each staying consistent with their audience numbers over time.

Grand Theft Auto V Maintains Its Stronghold

Even though GTA V came out way back in 2013, it’s somehow still one of Twitch’s top performers. Last year alone it hit almost 1.4 billion hours watched, most of that thanks to the always-growing roleplay scene. Developers and even Twitch folks themselves have noted how the game isn’t really slowing down, even with GTA VI looming. It seems like the custom RP content keeps bringing in both streamers and viewers, acting like a kind of digital stage for player-driven improv stories.

Meanwhile, games like League of Legends and VALORANT aren’t going anywhere either. Both consistently rack up more than 800 million hours a year. Counter‑Strike stays close behind, bolstered by a strong competitive and esports presence. Surprisingly, Rust has climbed back into the spotlight again too, pulling in nearly 28 million hours in the last month. Its mix of survival gameplay and chaotic streamer events probably helped it resurface.

Emerging and Niche Game Presence

In addition to the heavy-hitters, such games as Escape From Tarkov, Marvel Rivals, Dead by Daylight, Minecraft, and World of Warcraft remain in the top twenty. They may not be necessarily viral, but they have a dedicated following. Also, even Umamusume: Pretty Derby managed to get into the bottom bit of the top thirty, with more than six million hours being watched only last week this July. That is not a shabby amount, especially for a specialty anime racing sim.
These latest viewership statistics demonstrate that the most popular games on Twitch are not only dependent on dates of release or colorful  graphics. Community energy is what propels them the most; be it in the form of memes, roleplay, or plain passion, those games manage to remain in the forefront of the streaming spectrum.
