Ubisoft's Prince Of Persia Remake Expected By 2026

Ubisoft confirms Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is expected by March 2026. After years of delays, fans finally have hope for a polished return of this iconic action-adventure classic.

At this point, the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake is starting to feel like gaming’s version of a mirage—always on the horizon, never quite arriving. But according to Ubisoft’s latest earnings report, the long-delayed remake is now expected to drop sometime between January and March 2026. That’s not exactly around the corner, but hey, we finally have a release window that doesn’t stretch across an entire calendar year.

This remake was originally set to launch back in January 2021. That’s over half a decade of “it’s coming soon,” followed by nothing but radio silence and quiet delays. It got passed around studios, shelved, and re-evaluated. For a while, it looked like Ubisoft might’ve just buried it and hoped no one would notice. But now, it’s back on the schedule. It was June 2024 when we heard that Ubisoft Toronto development teams had gotten their hands on this particular project.

Alongside, Prince of Persia Remake, earnings report also suggesting that other upcoming titles like Anno 117: Pax Romana, Rainbow Six Mobile, and The Division Resurgence will also be released during same window.

Why the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake Still Matters?

So why are people still hyped after all this time? Well, The Sands of Time isn’t just some forgotten PS2-era platformer. It was the game that defined a generation for many players. Time manipulation mechanics, slick wall-running, and an actually engaging story—this was peak early-2000s Ubisoft magic.

When the remake was first announced, fans were thrilled to see one of their favorite games getting a modern facelift. But excitement quickly turned to concern when early footage looked… rough. The visuals were dated, the animation stiff, and the charm of the original seemed lost in translation. Ubisoft took the hint, went back to the drawing board, and has been reworking it ever since.

Now that we’ve finally got a (somewhat) firm release window, there’s a flicker of cautious optimism. In a perfect world, Ubisoft nails it, delivering a polished, respectful remake that captures everything fans loved about the original. But if history’s any indicator, there’s always the risk the Prince ends up stuck once again in the ever-shifting sands of development limbo.
