Each agent in the game plays a specific role: Duelist, Sentinel, Initiator, or Controller, and knowing which ones are performing best right now can really help your team win more matches.

This tier list breaks down the top agents in each role based on recent trends, pick rates, and how they fit into most team comps.

Duelist

Duelists are the agents designed to be the primary attackers and fraggers on a team. Their abilities focus on aggressive play, taking fights head-on, and securing kills to open up sites or create space for teammates.

• S Tier Duelist: Jett, Neon, Yoru
• A Tier Duelist: Raze, ISO
• B Tier Duelist: Phoenix, Waylay, Reyna

Sentinels

Sentinels in Valorant are defensive specialists whose primary role is to lock down areas, support their team, and control the pace of the game. They excel at holding angles, watching flanks, and providing crucial utility like setting traps and signals. 

• S Tier Sentinels: Vyse, Cypher
• A Tier Sentinels:  Chamber, Deadlock

Initiators

Initiators are the team’s playmakers. Their primary role is to break through enemy defenses and create opportunities for their team to take control of areas. They specialize in gathering information, forcing enemies out of strong positions, and setting up teammates for successful engagements.

Controller

Controllers, on the other hand, focus on managing sightlines and controlling space on the map. They use smokes, walls, and other area-denial tools to slow down or reroute enemies and make it easier for their team to execute plans.
