The Valorant Challengers League South Asia 2025: Split 2 has kicked off with some seriously exciting matchups. With the tournament underway since May 16, fans have already been treated to some thrilling matchups and today was no different. Two key encounters took place: Velocity Gaming vs Reckoning Esports and Revenant Esports X Spark vs S8UL Esports. Let’s break down the highlights of these exciting matches.
Match 1: Velocity Gaming vs Reckoning Esports
The day began with Velocity Gaming taking on Reckoning Esports in what turned out to be a one-sided affair. The first map, Haven, was Reckoning’s pick, but they struggled to find their footing right from the start. Velocity dominated the first half with a commanding 9-3 lead, often dubbed the "curse score" but instead of a comeback, Reckoning faltered completely, failing to win a single round in the second half. The map ended with a convincing 13-3 win for Velocity.
Moving on to the second map, Lotus, things looked a bit more balanced initially. Reckoning showed signs of life, keeping the first half competitive with a 7-5 scoreline, still in favor of Velocity. However, the momentum didn’t last. Velocity Gaming once again locked things down in the second half, allowing no room for a comeback. With that, Velocity wrapped up the series 2-0, showing they are a force to be reckoned with this split.
Match 2: Revenant X Spark vs S8UL Esports
The second matchup was a rollercoaster. It kicked off on Lotus, picked by Revenant X Spark. However, the plan backfired as S8UL completely dominated the map, winning 13-4 in a lopsided game. S8UL's k1ngkappa led the charge with a standout performance, dropping 23 kills.
But Revenant X Spark weren’t done yet. The second map, Ascent, was a battle of grit and nerve. After an intense back-and-forth and four overtimes, Revenant edged out S8UL with a nail-biting 16-14 win. Azys stole the spotlight here, racking up a monstrous 27 kills to carry his team over the line.
With the series tied 1-1, everything came down to the final map: Split. This time, Revenant X Spark came out swinging and never looked back. From start to finish, they controlled the game and closed out the map 13-10, sealing the series 2-1 in their favor.
