Valorant Masters Toronto Peaks at 2.8 Million Viewers, Sets New VCT Record

  • India Today Gaming
  • June 23, 2025 (UPDATED: June 23, 2025 12:34 IST)

Valorant Masters Toronto reaches a record-breaking 2.8 million peak viewers, becoming the most-watched VCT event in the Americas despite odd match timings.

Valorant Masters Toronto just pulled off something big. The event crossed 2.8 million peak concurrent viewers, which is now the highest viewership ever for any VCT event in the Americas. That’s a crazy number when you really think about it. For comparison, Masters Bangkok only hit around 1.3 million, and Major Austin peaked at 1.4 million during the hype Mouse vs Team Secret match.

Valorant Esports Hits New High as Masters Toronto Surpasses 2.8M Peak Viewership

What makes this even more surprising is the timing of the matches. Most games started around 10 AM Toronto time, which honestly isn’t the best for North American or LATAM fans. A lot of people are at school, work, or just busy with daily life during that time. Only the EU (CEST) audience really had a convenient slot to watch live.

Also, there's still a bit of confusion around whether or not the viewership number includes Chinese platforms. Riot hasn't officially confirmed that yet. And if it doesn’t include China, then this number becomes even more impressive, because China usually adds a massive boost to viewership stats.

Just for more context—Masters Bangkok had a solid 400k average viewers (without China), which is already pretty high. So 2.8 million peak for Toronto? That’s huge. And it shows how much the global interest in Valorant is growing fast, especially in 2025.

Of course, this also shows how strong the Valorant esports scene is becoming, even with not-so-perfect timings. If these numbers are accurate, and especially if they don’t include China yet, it could mean VCT is heading toward record-breaking numbers in future international events.

No matter how you look at it, this is a massive W for Riot, Valorant, and the entire community.

As of now, Fnatic and Paper Rex are battling it out in the grand final of Masters Toronto for the championship title and a prize pool of $350,000.
