VALORANT Patch 10.05: Ranked Rollbacks Have a Catch

  • India Today Gaming
  • March 18, 2025 (UPDATED: March 18, 2025 23:39 IST)

VALORANT Patch 10.05 adds Ranked Rollbacks, but a refund cap frustrates players. Here's what to know.

VALORANT’s Patch 10.05 is here, bringing essential bug fixes and introducing Ranked Rollbacks a system designed to refund RR lost to cheaters. At first glance, it seems like a great addition, but there’s a catch that has the community frustrated: a cap on how much RR you can recover per Act.

Ranked Rollbacks: A Good Idea with a Major Flaw?

Ranked Rollbacks allow players who lost RR due to matches against confirmed cheaters to reclaim their points. A notification will display the refunded RR, which is applied after completing one Competitive match win or lose.

The problem? There’s a limit on how much RR can be refunded per Act. If you encounter multiple cheaters, you’ll only get some of your lost RR back, not all of it. For players who frequently run into cheaters, this feels unfair. If Riot acknowledges that these matches were compromised, why not restore all lost RR?

Bug Fixes & Adjustments

Alongside Ranked Rollbacks, Patch 10.05 addresses several gameplay issues:

Agents:

  • Raze’s Blast Pack explosion size has been corrected.
  • Clove and Sage no longer take damage for a frame after reviving.
  • Tejo’s Armageddon indicator should now work properly.

Maps:

  • Fixed line-of-sight issues on Breeze.
  • Resolved a Spike plant bug on Sunset.

Social & Console:

  • PS5 Remote Play has been temporarily disabled.
  • In-game status updates should now be more reliable.

(With Breeze’s fixes, it might return to the active map pool soon.)

Community Reactions

Bug fixes are always welcome, but the RR cap has sparked backlash. Players quickly took to social media to express their frustration:

  • “A cap for Ranked Rollbacks… per Act… are we serious?”
  • “How is there a limit on how much RR you can get back? ‘Oh my bad for losing to cheaters more than you deem OK’?”

Many feel this system is a half-measure. While it reduces losses from cheaters, it doesn’t fully compensate players who were unfairly ranked down.
