OW2 Twitch Drops Event: How to Get Free Loot Boxes in Overwatch 2
Earn up to five free loot boxes in Overwatch 2 by watching Twitch streams! Find out how to claim your rewards, link your accounts, and maximize your loot before the event ends on March 30, 2025.

Season 15 of Overwatch 2 has brought some of the most significant changes the game has seen in years. Alongside the introduction of the Perks system, Blizzard has brought back loot boxes, allowing players to unlock rare skins, weapons, and cosmetics without spending credits.
Now, Blizzard is giving away even more loot boxes for free through Twitch Drops, but you’ll have to act fast—these rewards are only available for a limited time.
How to Get Free Loot Boxes From Twitch Drops
Blizzard’s new Twitch Drops campaign allows players to earn up to five free loot boxes simply by watching Overwatch 2 streams on Twitch. Instead of unlocking a specific skin, you’ll get a randomized set of rewards, with the chance to score exclusive or hard-to-find skins.
Here’s how many hours you’ll need to watch to unlock each loot box:
- Watch for 2 hours – Earn 1 Loot Box
- Watch for 4 hours – Earn 1 Loot Box
- Watch for 6 hours – Earn 1 Loot Box
- Watch for 8 hours – Earn 1 Loot Box
- Watch for 10 hours – Earn 1 Loot Box
This Twitch Drops event runs from March 17 to March 30, 2025, giving you plenty of time to rack up hours and claim your loot.
How to Claim Your Loot Boxes
To ensure you receive your Twitch Drops, follow these steps:
- Login to your Battle.net account via the official Battle.net site.
- Go to the Connections tab on the left-hand menu.
- Find Twitch and click the "+Connect" button.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to link your accounts.
Once linked, you can track your progress by clicking on your profile icon in Twitch and selecting the “Drops and Rewards” tab. After meeting the required watch time, you’ll need to manually claim your loot boxes before they expire.
Note: Rewards may take some time to appear in-game, so if they don’t show up immediately, be patient and check back later.
Why This Loot Box Giveaway Matters
This event is a great opportunity for players to unlock rare cosmetics without spending credits. Since loot boxes contain randomized skins, sprays, and weapons, you might end up scoring a legendary skin that hasn’t been available in the shop for a long time.
With Season 15 reintroducing loot boxes, it’ll be interesting to see whether Blizzard continues to make them available through events like this in the future.
For now, be sure to tune into Overwatch 2 streams on Twitch before March 30 to secure your free loot boxes while they last.
