Valorant Patch 10.09: Tejo Adjustments, Bug Fixes, and More

Valorant Patch 10.09 brings Tejo adjustments, Breach tweaks, Swiftplay changes, and bug fixes.

Valorant's Patch 10.09 includes major revisions for Tejo in response to complaint about his formidable play, and especially how it relates to rockets. The Guided Salvo ability of Tejo has been tweaked to better offer versatility as well as increase the cost to cast and capping the map range. This is to improve the effectiveness of the ability as well as reduce instances of gameplay where rockets may be reused repetitively with little real consequence. With the cooldown removed, Tejo's rockets now demand greater strategic investment, giving enemies more space to counterplay.

Furthermore, Tejo's Stealth Drone costs 300 instead of 400, and the cost of his ultimate, Armageddon, increases from 8 to 9 ultimate points to bring it in line with other high-damage ultimates in the game. Special Delivery, on the other hand, has had its cost decreased from 300 to 200.

Breach's Fault Line Update

Breach also undergoes a slight but important change. The explosion time of his Fault Line skill has been prolonged by 0.2 seconds, from 1 to 1.2 seconds. This change is made to enhance opportunities for counterplay, giving enemies a little extra time to get out of the stun if they are not directly in the center of the explosion.

Swiftplay Mode Changes

As a response to community feedback, Valorant has boosted the starting ultimate points of many agents in Swiftplay mode. As ultimate point costs have been increasing since the mode came out, the developers are now allowing agents more easily access their ultimates in the first half of the match. In particular, the starting points of Breach's Rolling Thunder, Killjoy's Lockdown, and Viper's Viper's Pit have all been boosted from 2 to 3.

Gifting Changes

Valorant’s gifting system is being expanded in response to player demand. Starting May 15, players will be able to send up to 10 gifts per day, an increase from the previous limit of 5. This change will coincide with the launch of the Give Back // V25 Collection, where gifts sent to friends will also benefit charity.

Cosmetic and Bug Fixes

Multiple bug fixes have been implemented in Patch 10.09. One earlier visual bug with the Bolt skinline that made the skins glow brighter than they should be has been undone after further testing revealed no real risk to photosensitive players. In the meantime, a bug on kill banners for some skins has been solved.

Still, a fresh issue with the Bolt skinline still exists, where the skins emit an excessively high level of brightness. This is a separate bug from the previously addressed bug and may affect competitive play. The problem will be addressed in the next Patch 10.11. Furthermore, the developers are addressing a bug in which Omen's Dark Cover ability allows deceased teammates to penetrate Viper's Pit or other nearsight effects, which is slated to be fixed in Patch 10.10.
