Valorant Patch 9.07 Overview: Minor Agent Updates, Bug Fixes, and Competitive Tweaks

Valorant Patch 9.07 brings minor agent ability tweaks, bug fixes, and competitive adjustments. Explore updates to audio cues, agent interactions with Sage’s Barrier, and more.

Patch 9.07 for Valorant is here, but let's be real—there's not much to get excited about. If you were hoping for game-changing updates, you’ll be disappointed. This patch focuses mostly on bug fixes, minor competitive adjustments, and a few small agent ability tweaks. Nothing major that’ll shake up your matches.

Agent Changes: Audio Fixes & Wall Interactions

The biggest (but still small) update in this patch revolves around agent abilities, with a focus on audio cues. Riot has smoothed out the sounds for abilities that cross Astra’s Ultimate (Cosmic Divide), making it easier to identify where those abilities are coming from.

Also, abilities like Cypher’s Trapwire and Spycam, as well as Vyse’s Arc Rose, will now interact more smoothly with Sage’s Barrier Orb walls. You won’t be able to place these abilities above a rising Barrier Orb anymore, which might help clean up some tricky in-game mechanics.

Progression and Competitive Updates

There’s a small tweak to the Basic Training event. The objectives for Milestone 3 have shifted a bit, but don’t worry—you’ll still get the same XP and loot. In competitive play, Premier’s Playoff Brackets got a fresh style update, and groupings will see some changes in the Contenders and Invite divisions.

Console Changes

For console players, there are a couple of updates worth noting. Riot is combining the Smooth Aim Curve with the Standard Aim Curve, streamlining the two since they were nearly identical. Players will also have the option to display their previous Act Rank, which is a nice little touch for those looking to show off their progress.

Neon Bug Fix & Map Quality of Life Improvements

The only real agent bug fix worth mentioning is for Neon’s backward slide, which should now work as intended. Maps like Abyss, Bind, Lotus, Pearl, Fracture, and Piazza also received some general quality-of-life updates.

Overall, Patch 9.07 feels more like a housekeeping update. Sure, it's always good to get bug fixes, but we’re hoping for something more substantial in the next patch. Until then, keep grinding!
