Warner Bros. Now Own Multiversus Developer Player First Games

This acquisition follows a period of giant layoffs and studio closures in the gaming industry, affecting groups that include Microsoft’s Xbox, Sony’s PlayStation, EA, Take-Two Interactive, and Riot Games.

Warner Bros. Games has acquired Player First Games, the developer behind the brand new free-to-play platform fighter sport “MultiVersus,” primarily based on Warner Bros. Discovery franchises.

Player First Games will remain led using co-founders Tony Huynh, head of the studio, and Chris White, head of generation. They will now file to Carlos Barbosa, the Vice President and studio head of Warner Bros. Games San Diego. With aid from Warner Bros. Games San Diego in production and live control, Player First Games developed “MultiVersus,” which launched on May 28. The game capabilities a developing roster of popular characters from various Warner Bros. Discovery franchises and is to be had on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4S, Xbox One, and PC.

Games family, emphasizing that the mixing will benefit the general revel in of “MultiVersus” gamers, as the development group will now be greater carefully aligned with the publisher.
