What to Expect From Valorant’s Neptune 2.0 Bundle: Price, Controversy & More!

The much-hyped Neptune 2.0 set has now arrived in Valorant, bringing back the classic underwater collection almost three years after its initial release. Riot Games has now officially teased the set, confirming new guns, a melee, and a finisher that have already created controversy among gamers.

The teaser showcased a Phantom skin and a new melee hook, confirming their inclusion. While Riot has yet to reveal the full lineup, the structure of the first Neptune bundle suggests that Bulldog, Odin, or other weapon skins could be part of the package. The original Neptune 1.0 bundle included an Anchor Melee, Shorty, Vandal, Spectre, and Guardian, making the Phantom a notable addition this time.

The Finisher Controversy

One of the largest criticisms of the initial Neptune bundle was that it had no finisher. Riot has remedied this with Neptune 2.0, adding an octopus-themed finisher in which tentacles pop out of a portal to snatch up the last enemy. Rather than being greeted with enthusiasm though, the finisher has been met with criticism. Some players complain that the animation is too close to the Prelude to Chaos finisher, creating complaints regarding reused mechanics instead of new, creative designs.

Price and Release Expectations

Riot has yet to confirm the official price and release date, but based on past trends, the bundle is expected to cost around 7,100 VP. Individual items will likely be available for separate purchase:

• Melee: 3,550 VP

• Gunbuddy: 475 VP

• Playercard: 375 VP

• Spray: 325 VP

The bundle adds a slim new melee, the highly anticipated Phantom skin, and a nice finisher, though not the most original one. For gamers who value minimalistic visuals and distinctive sound effects, Neptune 2.0 might be a solid addition. But those anticipating revolutionary animations will be disappointed by the lack of originality in the finisher.
