What’s New in the Latest Update of Clash of Clans: Multi-Gear Tower, Troop Launcher & More

Supercell has revealed a major Clash of Clans update, introducing the Multi-Gear Tower defense and the Troop Launcher siege machine. Alongside these, several troops and defenses receive level upgrades, adding fresh strategic depth to Town Hall 17 gameplay.

This update boosts multiple troops, including the Archer (level 13), Healer (level 10), Pekka (level 12), and Miner (level 11). These upgrades enhance attack strength, durability, and healing effects, influencing popular strategies like Super Archer Blimp and Queen Charge. The Poison Spell and Haste Spell also receive level upgrades, improving their effectiveness in battles. The Bowler (level 9) is another notable upgrade, adding more power to Super Bowler attacks.

Other major defenses are upgraded, including Mortar (level 17), X-Bow, and Hidden Tesla, thus increasing their durability and attack power. Anyone who used to supercharge these defenses must rebid for the upgrades.

The Multi-Gear Tower combines the geared-up Cannon and Archer Tower into one powerful structure. This feature is limited to one per base and requires players to have a level 21 geared-up Cannon and Archer Tower from the Builder Base.

The tower operates in two modes:

• Archer Tower Mode: Long-range attacks (12 tiles) with slower firing speed.

• Cannon Mode: Short-range (8 tiles) with burst fire, dealing heavy damage.

Unlike other defenses, the Multi-Gear Tower cannot be supercharged, making its base form the final upgrade. Players must strategize its placement based on range and firepower preferences.

At Town Hall 16 with Workshop level 8, the Troop Launcher deploys barrels filled with Giants, Barbarians, Archers, Wall Breakers, and Clan Castle troops. It functions similarly to the Siege Barracks but releases reinforcements gradually over time.

The main mechanics include:

• Maximum of seven barrels per launch, each containing a mix of spawned troops.

• Unlimited range, allowing placement far from enemy defenses.

• Takes damage over time, meaning players must manage its health strategically.

• If destroyed, all remaining Clan Castle troops deploy instantly.

While the Troop Launcher introduces a unique playstyle, its staggered troop release may challenge players used to instant reinforcement from other siege machines.
