Who will Be Tony Tony Chopper Voice Artist in One Piece Live-Action Season 2?

Netflix has announced that actress Mikaela Hoover will play Tony Tony Chopper in season two of the live-action One Piece series. She is the 33rd new cast member added to the upcoming season, as the show continues to grow its cast for the next chapter of the popular story. Chopper, a reindeer who gains human traits through a mystical fruit, serves as the Straw Hat crew’s quirky and compassionate doctor.

 

Hoover will play a character that many long-time fans love. In the past, Chopper was voiced by Brina Palencia in the English version and Ikue Ōtani in the Japanese version. Now, Hoover will bring her version of the role to the live-action show. She has appeared in big movies like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, The Suicide Squad, and Zero Hour. She is also set to play journalist Cat Grant in James Gunn’s upcoming Superman reboot.

Other than casting announcements, Netflix also teased fans with a preview of CGI Tony Tony Chopper! The reveal took place during a live event with the One Piece cast, and there was plenty of hype going into it with the visual reveal of the company's beloved character.

Fans reacted positively, with many saying Chopper’s design looks just like the anime and manga. The live-action show has worked hard to mix realistic visuals with the fun, playful style of the original. Early previews show they’re doing a good job so far.

New Release Date Confirmed

One Piece Season 2 was originally planned for 2025, but Netflix has pushed the release to 2026. They haven’t shared a specific date yet. The extension might suggest they would like more time to improve upon the show, especially with characters like Chopper that require extensive visual effects.

More actors are joining, and fans are getting excited. The live-action One Piece will be one of Netflix’s biggest projects.
