Wuthering Waves 2.5 Patch Notes – New Resonator Phrolova, Underwater Region, Events, and Major Gameplay Improvements

The Wuthering Waves 2.5, or "Unfading Melody of Life", came out on July 24, 2025. The game for this version includes a new 5-star hero, an underwater environment, more story content, strong weapons, events, and some items to ensure effortless gameplay.

Get Acquainted with the New Resonator: Phrolova

A new Resonator 5-star, Phrolova of the Fractsidus, is here. She employs a Havoc-element Rectifier and attacks with musical energy. She accumulates something called Volatile Notes and her Forte Gauge during combat, allowing her to execute powerful attacks. Her ex-buster brings out Hecate, a friend who deals lots of damage and places buffs.

Phrolova's Weapon: Lethean Elegy

The patch also comes with a new 5-star weapon: Lethean Elegy. It's the personal weapon of Phrolova, Rectifier, which is designed to enhance her fighting capacity. You can attempt to get it from the limited weapon banner during the initial patch duration.

New Area: Fabricatorium of the Deep

Version 2.5 introduces a whole new level: the Deep Fabricatorium, which is underwater. It's filled with glowing ruins, puzzles (such as the Orchestration Altars), deactivatable traps, and new classes of enemies. You'll have a hard time fighting hard against ugly ones like Nightmare-type monsters and ghost bosses.

A New Echo Set: Dream of the Lost

A new Echo set is added to this patch. Dream of the Lost is suitable for burst damage builds. In the absence of Resonance Energy, it enhances your crit rate and Echo skill damage greatly.

Story & Side Quests

Main Story: Chapter II, Act VII – Dreamcatchers in the Secret Gardens
There is a side story named Rust, Sword, and the Sun as well, which centers around Phrolova and provides additional information about her.

Limited-Time Events You Can Participate In

Six special events are currently ongoing during this update:

• Phantasma Dreamland – a roguelike event centered around Echoes
• Gifts of Grand Symphony – daily log-in rewards
• Dreaming Deep – additional content within the Solaris Film Festival
• Overflowing Picture Book – easy puzzle and coloring
• Deep Sea Survey – photograph and investigate
• Wuthering Exploration – region event in the Border Mountains

Helpful System Enhancements

Some pleasant fixes and enhancements accompany the update as well:

• Auto-lock and filter Echoes are available
• Sync Tuning makes leveling up easier
• 10 team presets can be saved, not only 5
• Skill music can be enabled/disabled
• Interface now indicates improved cooldowns and stats
• The game performs better on Steam Deck and other hardware

File Size & Preload Info

Preloading started on the 22nd of July. On PC (where it installs to 16 GB), the update will take up about 8 GB of space, the same as taking about 7 GB on phone (about 14 GB after full installation).

The 2.5 update is wonderful because it offers much to all sorts of players, whether they love a story, a fight, or a collector. The new Phrolova unit is strong and unique in water, and the underwater area is sufficiently detailed. New constructions, events, and a much smoother game are all sufficient reasons to enjoy this time.
