Kuro Games surprised fans by announcing a collaboration with Netflix’s hit anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners during the Version 2.3 livestream on April 19, 2025. The crossover will merge the action-packed gameplay of Wuthering Waves with the high-tech, dystopian world of Night City.
Collaboration Reveal
The announcement came at the very end of the 2.3 preview stream. This caughtviewers off guard. The developers confirmed that the crossover is in partnership with CD Projekt Red. They are the creators of the Cyberpunk universe. While few details were shared, the collaboration was teased as a major feature for the future.
Release Schedule
The Wuthering Waves × Cyberpunk: Edgerunners event is scheduled to launch sometime in 2026. An exact release date hasn’t been revealed yet. But the developers plan to share more updates as the year progresses.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is an anime series. Based in the same universe as Cyberpunk 2077, Studio Trigger and CD Projekt Red have co-developed this. It got released on Netflix in 2022. The show received critical acclaim. It was mainly for its animation, music, and emotional storytelling, quickly becoming a cult favorite.
What to Expect In-Game
Though complete details remain under wraps, rumors are already on the go. Fans are looking forward to the return of popular characters such as David, Lucy, and Rebecca in the game. There may be themed areas based on Night City, as well as cyberpunk-themed outfits, weapons, and mounts. Time-limited activities and special cosmetics are also expected as part of the crossover material.
