Zellsis Hacked? – The Sentinel Coin Scam Explained

  • India Today Gaming
  • March 10, 2025 (UPDATED: March 10, 2025 22:32 IST)

Zellsis' Twitter was hacked to promote the Sentinel Coin scam here's what really happened.

If you woke up to Zellsis promoting a crypto scam on Twitter, you probably knew something was off. While Jordan "Zellsis" Montemurro, known as the 'Money Man,' is no stranger to jokes, things took a bizarre turn when his Twitter account was hacked. Suddenly, the usual memes were replaced by posts pushing "Sentinel Coin." Let’s break down what happened.

How It Went Down

One moment, Zellsis was his usual chaotic self apologizing for a previous scandal and the next, his account was flooded with scammy promises like, "Huge opportunity! Get in early!" Seriously, can the guy catch a break?

The now-deleted post raised eyebrows immediately. Not only did it make bold claims, but the word Sentinels was misspelled as Sentinals—a classic scam giveaway. But that wasn’t the only red flag. Here’s what else stood out:

The Biggest Red Flags

  • Suspicious Links – The post included a Pump.fun link, a site often used to launch quick, low-credibility crypto tokens.
  • Too Good to Be True Promises – It claimed Sentinel Coin would "empower fans" and offer exclusive rewards—without any official confirmation from Sentinels.
  • Pinned Tweet Trick – The hacker pinned the tweet to boost its visibility, a common tactic for spreading scams.
  • Hidden Replies – Concerned fans trying to warn others had their replies hidden to prevent the truth from spreading.

Why Gamers Are Prime Targets

Crypto and esports have been crossing paths more often lately NFT collaborations, fan tokens, and crypto sponsorships blur the lines. Hackers know that gamers, already familiar with digital economies (think skins and loot boxes), are easy targets for "next big thing" scams.

Thankfully, Zellsis regained control of his account before too much damage was done. But the next time a post promises easy money or exclusive perks, think twice before clicking.
