In addition to the rename, it also archived or deleted all previous PUBG Mobile-related posts. Here is everything we know about the Battlegrounds Mobile India teaser, new poster, and announcement for the PUBG Mobile relaunch.

Battlegrounds Mobile India launch teaser and poster out; PUBG Mobile renamed

The formal announcement around the Battlegrounds Mobile India launch outlined some aspects of the upcoming title. Krafton CEO Changhan (CH) Kim confirmed that Battlegrounds Mobile India is a AAA free-to-play title that will only launch in India. Krafton has teamed up with Microsoft to use its cloud platform Azure to handle the data of Indian gamers. Kim noted that Microsoft Azure will ensure that the game publisher complies with all the data privacy and security laws. The company noted that the Battlegrounds Mobile India servers are in India and Singapore.

Krafton will share the official launch date for Battlegrounds Mobile India “at a later date”. Lim Woo-yon, the head of Battlegrounds Mobile India also shared some more information around the upcoming title. Lim added that the company is currently gearing up for the launch of the title. As part of the preparations, Krafton is working on “limited edition costumes” to celebrate the relaunch. Besides the in-game skins, we can also expect in-game events to keep the fans engaged.

The game publisher is also working on organizing eSports tournaments to help nurture the ecosystem in India. Krafton will share other information around the release in the coming weeks. It is also worth noting that the 10-second-long launch teaser video features the familiar PUBG Mobile background music. The animation style looks like the banned PUBG Mobile title, so Battlegrounds Mobile India is likely a rename. One can also expect several tweaks in the gameplay that Krafton outlined last year to address the government criticism.
