Gran Turismo movie trailer released by Sony at CES 2023
Gran Turismo movie teaser premiered at the CES 2023 showcase and it featured David Harbour, Orlando Bloom and Archie Madekwe.
The Gran Turismo movie trailer was released by Sony at the CES showcase on Wednesday. This first look at the upcoming movie also revealed an August 11 release date for the live-action movie. Sony also announced that Gran Turismo 7 is getting support for PSVR 2 when the device launches on February 22.

Gran Turismo movie teaser premiered at the CES 2023 showcase and it featured David Harbour, Orlando Bloom and Archie Madekwe. The cast talked about what the movie has to offer when it releases this year in August. Neill Blomkamp, best-known for District 9 and Elysium, will be directing this movie. Jason Hall (American Sniper) and Zach Baylin (King Richard) wrote the script for Gran Turismo.
This movie is based on the true story of UK racer Jann Mardenborough who came from the GT Academy. Nissan and Sony ran the GT Academy contest between 2008 and 2016 which gave the winners a place in Nissan’s Driver Development Programme. This contest gave Gran Turismo video game players the chance to actually have a real-life professional racing career with Nissan.
Mardenborough won in 2018 and went on to compete in the GP3 Series, 24 Hours of Le Mans and Japanese Super GT series.
PlayStation Productions’ Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan are on board as producers of this movie. Gran Turismo creator and Polyphony Digital head Kazunori Yamauchi is the executive producer for Gran Turismo. So, it’s pretty much a project that PlayStation and Gran Turismo creators are a part of, similar to Naughty Dog being a part of the upcoming The Last of Us HBO show.
