The anime adaptation has already caught attention because of its great voice cast. Sally Amaki, known for roles in Tomo-chan Is a Girl! and Overwatch Shorts, voices Lily Baker, the British girl at the heart of the story. This role shows Sally’s shift from being a reluctant idol to a popular voice actress. She will also sing both the opening song, Futari no Start Button, with Shoya Chiba, who voices Renji Kusakabe, and the ending song, Amusing Flavor.

Chiba, known for his role as Taiki in Blue Box, will voice Renji. The trailer also introduces the rest of the cast, including Reo Osanai as Aoi Kusakabe, Asaki Yuikawa as Karin Kaga, Kaori Ishihara as Hotaru Katsuragi, and Ai Kayano as Momoko Mochizuki.

From Manga to Anime: A Growing Trend

Culture Exchange with Game Center Girl was first shared on platforms like Twitter and Pixiv in December 2019, quickly gaining popularity. Its success online is part of a bigger trend where manga that start online get adapted into anime. The series later moved to Niconico Seiga under the DraDra Sharp brand, and its popularity led to an official anime adaptation.

Produced by the NOMAD studio and directed by Toshihiro Kikuchi (known for Pseudo Harem), the anime aims to bring the manga’s charm to life. Yasunori Yamada (from My Deer Friend Nokotan) is writing the series, while Rikiya Okano (from Tokyo Autumn Session) is designing the characters. The music, composed by Takuro Iga (from Oshi no Ko), will add more emotion to the show.

Storyline: An Unexpected Meeting at the Arcade

The story is about Renji Kusakabe, a young man who works part-time at a game arcade. On Valentine's Day, he meets Lily Baker, a British girl who is having trouble winning a prize from a crane game. After he helps her, she wins the prize and surprises him with a message asking, "Be My Valentine!" The story will follow their growing connection as they bond over gaming, cultural differences, and the chance of a romance.

The anime will officially premiere at 23:30 JST on July 6, 2025. Fans are excited for what looks like a fun and refreshing romcom. With a great voice cast, an interesting story, and a focus on cultural exchange through gaming, Cultural Exchange with Game Center Girl is set to be a standout anime this season.
