Fans of Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club has great news. The official poster for second movie in the final trilogy was showed at a fan event in Miyagi. The colorful new picture shows the school idols ready for a new adventures. Along with the poster, a special video was also shared, showing the cast’s energy and excited for what coming next.
Story and Setting: A New Adventure Begins
This new movie picks up after first film, which debuted in Japan on September 6, 2024. The story is set mainly across cities like Kyoto, Osaka, and Kobe and continues to follows the “School Idol GPX,” a competition where idols battle for top rank using their talents and streaming apps. This time, the spotlight shines on beloved characters Setsuna, Ai, Rina, Mia, Karin, and Shioriko as they faces new challenges.
Creative Team and Series Background
Directed by Tomoyuki Kawamura and animated by Sunrise, the film feature the return of scriptwriter Jin Tanaka and character designer Takumi Yokota. Music is composed by Naoki Endou, adding to the vibrant atmosphere what fans expect from the franchise. The series is based on original works by Hajime Yatate and Kurako Kiminosa, maintaining the heart of the Love Live! Universe.
The Nijigasaki High School Idol Club started as a TV anime with two seasons that aired in 2020 and 2022, and then an OVA came out in 2023. The story revolves around Yu Takasaki, a second year student who discovers the school idol world and joins the club alongside her friend Ayumu Uehara. Their friendships and friendly rivalries drives the group’s unique dynamic.

The first movie showed the idols Ayumu, Kasumi, Shizuku, Kanata, Ema, and Lanzhu competing in the Idol GPX in Okinawa. Now, the second chapter shift the action to new locations and characters, building toward the trilogy’s grand finale.
