During New York Comic Con 2024, Insomniac Games announced Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will be heading to PC on January 30th, 2025, via the Epic Games Store and Steam. Co-developed by Nixxes Software, PlayStation, and Marvel Games, this PC version comes with enhanced features that can provide a very polished experience across numerous different setups.
Enhanced Features to Maximise Visuals
The PC version of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will launch with full bundles of enhancements. The upgraded options for ray tracing will support the latest hardware and offer ultra-widescreen as well as several graphical settings in order to let the players personalise their experience. System requirements for the same have still not been announced, and the fans are excited to know how demanding this PC version might become.
Available Versions
It will be available in two editions: Standard and Deluxe. Everything that was published after the game's release on PlayStation 5 - 14 new costumes, New Game+, Ultimate Levels, Time of Day and more - will be available in the Standard Edition. More accessibility features like screen reader and audio descriptions are also included. Those are New Post-Game Achievements, Symbiotic Suit Styles, Action Figure Mode in Photo Mode, and even more.
For other content, they added to The Deluxe Edition besides what comes in the Standard Edition : unlock five additional suits for each Peter Parker and Miles Morales, get early access to the Arachknight and Shadow-Spider suits and have plenty of other cool in-game bonuses like skill points and gadgets.
Cautious Optimism from the Community
Where the announcement created much excitement, there remains a cautious optimism in the gaming community. A few have trepidation, remembering how other PC ports had seen huge problems at their launch, major performance and optimization issues, but Nixxes Software has an excellent reputation for quality ports and even gave many such relief, so it should live up to this.
With only months before it hits the shelves, the PC version of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 seems to be on the list of must-played titles for fans. Enhanced features and added content may be enough to make this game attractive to PC users, including those who have already played it on the PlayStation 5. Soon enough, the system requirements for this game will be determined. And, of course, one should always be ready with the impending purchase.
