Top 5 Side Missions You Shouldn’t Miss in GTA: San Andreas
Explore five unmissable side missions in GTA: San Andreas that go beyond the main story, unlocking the game’s world in ways many players completely overlook.

GTA: San Andreas is one of those games where even after playing it five times, something new still manages to surprise you. You think you’ve seen it all, the story missions, but then randomly you bump into a mission that isn’t even part of the main plot. And suddenly, the game feels fresh again. They speedrun the main story and walk away thinking they've ‘completed’ most of the story.
This is where player miss the major fun. You know what apart from major missions, GTA: San Andreas also offers you to explore various side missions where your character CJ can become a firefighter, the cab driver, the pimp, the race champion, even a makeshift lawman. So if you’re ready, here are five side missions in GTA: San Andreas that you absolutely shouldn’t miss.
Firefighter Mission
There’s more to GTA: San Andreas than high-speed chases and storyline drama. One such mission is, Firefighter Mission. All you have to do is hop in a fire truck and put out a series of burning pedestrians and vehicles. This might sound simple to you, right? Because it is. if you complete all 12 levels, CJ becomes completely immune to fire damage.
Not to mention, this one upgrade changes the way you're gonna deal further in the game, especially in later missions where Molotovs and explosions are a constant threat. It’s not flashy, but it’s one of the most practical side quests in the entire game.
Vigilante Mission
The Vigilante mission lets you temporarily act as law enforcement: you hunt down criminals, eliminate targets, and clean up the streets. This all can be done while driving a police vehicle. You have to complete all 12 levels; on successful completion, you will get increased armor capacity. That means more survivability in shootouts and tougher resistance during future missions.
Pimping Mission
It’s impossible to talk about San Andreas without acknowledging its darker, more provocative side. The Pimping mission fits into that niche, to be honest. You pick up the Broadway lowrider and start escorting workers to clients across the city. Complete 10 levels, and CJ starts earning passive income from workers on the street.
Freight Train Mission
Not every mission in San Andreas needs to be explosive, and this mission is perfect example of it. The Freight Train side job offers a rare moment of calm. You operate a train, make timed deliveries at stations across the map, and enjoy the long scenic routes between cities. Successfully finishing both routes unlocks permanent train travel and gives you a decent cash reward. While it's not action-heavy, it opens up another way to explore the map and adds to your gameplay experience.
Driving School Mission
After reaching San Fierro, you’ll come across a place that most players either ignore or rush through: the Driving School. The school puts you through a set of short but demanding driving challenges, like passing sharp turns or other obstacles. You need at least bronze in every test to finish it, and hitting higher scores opens up access to solid cars like the Super GT parked outside.
