As the countdown for Modern Warfare 3 counts backwards, Activision drops teasers and deets on what to expect

After Activision dropped the official release dates of Modern Warfare 3, The Software giant started dropping little scoops of exciting news and minor details about the game.

This would come along with the introduction of a fresh combat and movement-based mechanic, alongside two loadout customization features. Customizable load-outs have always been a “thing” for all the Call of Duty games, allowing players to tailor up their characters with a variety of weapons, lethal and tactical gadgets, and perks.

These revelations followed the Shadow Siege live event in Call of Duty: Warzone 2, which not only unveiled the final chapter of the rebooted Modern Warfare trilogy, but also laid the basic groundwork for the game's storyline.

Infinity Ward's developers have innovated upon the initial standard loadout system (finally) by introducing the Gunsmith feature but packed with new upgrades.

Through Gunsmith, players can personalize almost every minor aspect of a weapon, including elements like trigger types and magazine capacities. Because who likes to start reloading their guns at the peak of a fight, right? This Gunsmith feature was further refined in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, enabling unlocked attachments to carry over to different weapons of the same receiver type, enhancing the benefits players receive from their gameplay choices.

While we’re on the topic of Gunsmith, we can also point out how it establishes itself as a fundamental component of the Call of Duty series, Activision is looking to enhance its effectiveness by introducing additional features like Evolving Loadouts and After-Market Parts as well.

According to the official blog post, the After-Market Parts feature will let the players 'assemble' a weapon that suits their preferences by repositioning attachments or altering the movement characteristics, all without compromising damage output which is a big BIG win for all our shooter lovers. Moreover, After-Market Parts will introduce fresh paths for progression and challenges, accompanied by suitable rewards.

In addition to all this, the introduction of Evolved Loadouts will encourage players to fine-tune their in-combat efficiency by customizing various gears such as gloves, tactical vests, and boots for their characters. While specifics aren’t mentioned in the post, our community of mini Sherlocks can easily draw parallels to DMZ-exclusive custom 3-plate vests that confer increased functionalities.

Another thing to note is the Tac;Stance that will make its debut in Modern warfare 3, which is almost like a merger between combat and stances (hence the name). But this isn’t all! An open world zombie map, and a plethora of new combat missions will also be a part of the party. Activision really knows how to keep its fanbase of their toes, and we can’t wait to get our hands on the much awaited game soon!
