On August 31, Garena, the Singaporean gaming giant surprised the entire Indian gaming community by dropping the news of the return of its biggest mobile title, Free Fire. The news has taken the Indian gaming community by storm as gamers and audiences rejoice in the comeback of India's one of the biggest esports titles. Free Fire is all set to be available in India from September 5 onwards. The game would be available for download on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

Following the BGMI's path, Garena has introduced a separate game for the Indian audience named Free Fire India. Garena has also partnered with Yotta to host the data of Indian users locally. This particular step has been taken to clear all checks related to data security concerns of the Indian authorities.
