Manish Agarwal Founder and Custodian – IndiGG DAO sheds light on the opportunities for Indian Gamers in Web3 gaming

IndiGG's Founder and Custodian Manish Agarwal said that it is extremely important for gamers to monetize their in-game assets by owning them and selling them in a secondary market. 

Imagine playing a game, spending money to purchase fancy items, and still not owning it. Yes, that's what most gamers have been doing for so long. Gaming developers are completely monetizing the game data. IndiGG Founder Manish Agarwal shared his insights on how Indian gamers can become a digital goods factory for the world. While speaking with India Today Gaming, Manish said that it is important for gamers to monetize their in-game assets by owning them and selling them in a secondary market. 

One of the primary benefits of Web3 gaming is the potential for users to genuinely hold their in-game assets, which are kept on the blockchain. This ownership lets users buy, sell, trade, and monetize their virtual things or currencies outside trade, and monetize their virtual things or currencies outside of the game ecosystem. It also adds integrity, safety, and permanence to in-game transactions.

IndiGG, a division of Kratos Studios, is establishing a Web3 gaming DAO (decentralized autonomous organization) with the objective of connecting over 500 million Indian players into the Web3 gaming ecosystem and enabling earnings for its members. Talking about the acquisition of IndiGG, Manish said that gamers invest their time and money but need to earn through it. “We wanted to provide them with a platform to showcase their talent and get popular simultaneously. IndiGG being in the blockchain market for more than a year holds a solid position and has proper backing from the right people in the blockchain industry. These were the two prime reasons behind the acquisition of IndiGG,” said Manish.

Manish also opened up on IndiGG’s relationship with India’s renowned esports organization Orangutan Gaming. He said that it is extremely important to make the gaming community know more about IndiGG and get aware of Web3 games through live streams and creating content around them. Hence IndiGG partnered with Orangutan Gaming to get Web3 games streamed so that a large community of gamers gets to know more about them.

Apart from collaborating with esports organizations, IndiGG has been actively showing its presence in the competitive segment of Web3 gaming. In March 2023, the company announced the Web3 championship across various Indian cities including Bengaluru, Kolkata, Pune, Chennai, Delhi NCR. Alongside the Web3 Championship, IndiGG also launched the Esports Reputation program to build credibility and reliability surrounding esports athletes that can be used by organizations, coaches, and sponsors when hiring an athlete.

The gaming sector in India is experiencing rapid growth, thanks to the rising adoption of smartphones, low-cost data plans, and a huge young audience with a strong interest in gaming. Web3 gaming has gained momentum in India as a result of the emergence of the blockchain system and the possible advantages it delivers.
