Origami Games partnered with Dolby Atmos for the launch of its newest title Floors of Fear. The title is an asymmetrical multiplayer survival horror game that will test your survival skills in the toughest of situations. The game is available to download on the Google Play Store and will be available on the Apple App Store soon.
Origami Games CEO Rahul Gidwani shared the story behind the development of this game and the challenges faced during it. "Origami Games was founded in 2021 by a group of passionate game developers who wanted to create fun and engaging games for mobile devices. We started small, with a focus on hyper-casual games, but quickly grew as we gained experience and recognition in the gaming industry," said Rahul.
Rahul Gidwani further mentioned the challenges that Origami Games faced during the development of Floors of Fear. He said "One of the most difficult resources to procure during the production of Floors of Fear was finding the right sound effects to create an immersive horror experience. We knew that sound was crucial in creating an atmosphere of fear and tension, so we spent a lot of time with the best sound designer in India, Parikshit Lalwani."
Rahul also revealed the amount of hard work that went into procuring high-quality graphics and animations so that Floors of Fear remains playable and runs easily on every device. He said that it was important to ensure that the game looks great and is optimized for different devices.
It took around 8 months to develop the horror title "Floors of Fear" right from scratch. The gaming studio has ensured thrilling gameplay and also offered to play the game with immersive sound effects via Dolby Atmos. Dolby Atmos is a surround sound technology developed by Dolby Laboratories. It helps to expand on existing surround sound systems by adding height channels, allowing sounds to be interpreted as 3D objects.
Ashim Mathur, Vice President Marketing-Asia Pacific, Dolby Laboratories also shared his views on the collaboration with Origami Games. He said that India has witnessed an exponential rise in online and mobile gaming in the last few years, hence, it becomes essential to offer an immersive experience to the gamers out there.
Talking about Dolby's plans in India, Ashim said "This is a segment that grew immensely and will continue to do so. We are very excited to be part of the gaming ecosystem. These are exciting times, and we are looking forward to many more meaningful collaborations with like-minded brands and game publishers to provide the best in class spatial audio experience to gamers with Dolby Atmos".
