Rockstar's second GTA 6 trailer hides clever details—here are five you probably missed.

Rockstar Games has finally released the eagerly awaited second trailer for GTA 6, and it's a visual feast. Jam-packed with colourful shots of Vice City, high-octane action, and new character moments, the trailer has once again lit up fan fervour worldwide. But beneath the flashy moments and story hints, the trailer also conceals some subtle clues and smart callbacks that even eagle-eyed viewers may have missed.

Five Details that are worth a closer look

1) A meaningful Release Date:

The trailer closes with Rockstar revealing a revised release date: May 26, 2026. While some fans were angry at the delay, the date itself looks intentional. It is the anniversary of Ray Liotta's passing, the iconic voice of Tommy Vercetti in GTA: Vice City. With GTA 6 returning to Vice City, this looks to be a beautiful tribute to the memory of Liotta.

2) Phil Cassidy Could Be Returning:

A blink-and-you-miss-it shot features a grizzled man hawking a gun shop, looking uncannily like Phil Cassidy, the fan-favourite arms dealer of various 3d-era GTA games. Be it the original Phil, a relative, or a contemporary reinterpretation, the Cassidy name sends a wave of nostalgia among old fans.

3) A Witty Reference to the 2022 Leaks:

Early in the trailer, Jason can be spotted on a rooftop stating he's "just patching up some leaks." It's probably not just a throwaway line, it appears to be Rockstar's sly nod to the colossal 2022 GTA 6 leak. Instead of avoiding the debacle, the studio seems to be embracing it with a smart in-joke.

4) Air Travel Is Taking Off:

From cargo planes to helicopters and mid-air shootouts, the trailer highlights air vehicles more than ever. This might suggest a larger part for air travel within the game, maybe with more dynamic missions and larger exploration opportunities than ever experienced in the series.

5) Vice City Isn't the Whole Map:

While Vice City takes centre stage, hints point toward a much greater world. Jason's top states "Leonida Marine Centre," which refers to the Leonida Keys area. Rockstar has also officially confirmed new territories such as Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia, and Mount Kalaga, indicating GTA 6 will have the largest and most varied map in series history.

With GTA 6, Rockstar isn't only returning to a favourite location, it's building the world in all directions. And if the trailer is any sign, the game will be full of still more surprises yet to be revealed.
